Inspired by my best bud who just set up a train around his tree for his kid, I went down and picked up my old set. I was able to construct a surface area for the train that wraps around our fireplace mantel. I got it running and Nathan loves it. It is the first thing he wants to see in the morning and the last thing he wants to see when he goes to bed.
After hours of planning and execution, we got our lights up. We finally figured out a way to use the height of our house. We can't get to the roof, but we can string some lights together and pull them up through our attic.
Well, we finally did it. After a year and a half we finally gave him his first haircut. Mommy actually did the chopping—and a good job at it too. Check out the before and after.
We went on a weekend get away to Southern Illinois. We started at the Garden of the Gods where Nathan climbed up and down some of the rocks. Then we ventured to Cave in Rock off of the Ohio River where we stayed for the night. On Sunday we road the Tunnel Hill bike trail.
